Both on the regular ferry and the fast ferry your dog is very welcome and he can travel free of charge. You need not get a ticket for your pet. 

Taking your dog to Terschelling 

On Terschelling dogs may be unleashed in the forest and on the beach. In all other spots they need to be kept on a leash. Breeding and resting birds are sensitive to disturbances. Once disturbed there is a considerable risk that a breeding bird will not return to the nest.

Taking your dog to Vlieland

On Vlieland dogs may only be unleashed in the forest around the village and on the beach.

In all other spots they need to be kept on a leash.

Please take the following into consideration:

• Your dog is not allowed to take up a seat aboard the ferry
• Dogs always travel on a leash, unless they are transported in a basket, bag or bench
• Aboard the car ferries there are petfree zones for passengers with allergies for or fear of dogs. These are indicated with signs and dogs are not allowed there.
• When traveling on one of our ferries, we recommend that you board via the pedestrian bridge with your dog.
